Weekly Wrestling Watch: HCW Recap 4/13
HCW Wrestling Newsletter Recap – Episode #1087 – 4/13 – Go Home Show
The last stop before Critical Mass delivered a night full of unforgettable showdowns, post-match chaos, and ominous foreshadowing. The stakes have never been higher, and HCW pulled no punches in sending us into the pay-per-view extravaganza with tension, emotion, and pure mayhem.
Opening Segment – Max McGillicutty's Welcome
General Manager Max McGillicutty kicked off the night with gratitude and hype, celebrating the sold-out Fanfest and Critical Mass events and encouraging everyone to tune in via the NSFWA Network. With fire in his voice, he turned the page to tonight’s card—packed with battles that could shift the entire landscape of HCW.
Match #1: Steel Justice vs. Sons of Anarchy
Stipulation: #1 Contenders Match for the Heritage Tag Titles
Winners: Steel Justice via pinfall
Steel Justice and the Sons of Anarchy clashed in a gritty, high-octane tag bout where mutual respect gave way to desperation. Alex ‘Skyhawk’ Justice sealed the deal with a Wings Embrace Flying Crossbody. The moment was short-lived, however, as the Fangs of Despair ambushed the victors post-match. Steel Justice fought them off, igniting what promises to be a brutal encounter at Critical Mass.
Cara Loco Delivers a Chilling Promo
TV Champion Cara Loco stood in darkness and silence to honor the late Jeffrey Meyers, promising to win the upcoming memorial battle royal for his fallen friend. He turned his words toward Doofus Covfefe, calling him a walking disgrace who would be exorcised in the Chamber of Horrors. This promo blurred the line between madness and mourning, and it set the emotional tone for the night’s main event.
Match #2: Samoan Stomper Raku vs. Apollo Gyze
Winner: Raku via submission
Apollo Gyze brought agility, arrogance, and even a triple powerbomb to the table, but Raku’s relentless physicality—and his bone-crushing bearhug—proved too much. After Gyze tapped out, the 5th Column attacked Raku, only to be fended off. A furious Raku demanded a match at Critical Mass—a No-DQ Handicap Match—which the 5th Column gleefully accepted.
Match #3: Lou Albano & Tony Ricca vs. Tony & Salvatore Albano
Winners: Lou Albano III & Tony Ricca via pinfall
Family feuds turned violent in this combustible tag team clash. The Albano cousins tried to derail Lou’s championship ambitions but were outwrestled. Lou’s Head First Body Slam sealed the win, but Tony Ricca’s well-timed briefcase toss let Lou knock his cousins silly post-match. The family war is far from over.
Match #4: Talia Nocturne w/ Count Vlad vs. Goldie Locks
Winner: Talia Nocturne via submission
This was more séance than wrestling match. Talia glided like a phantom and controlled the pace with eerie calm. Goldie Locks fought valiantly, but Talia’s “Mourning Veil” submission drained the life out of her. After the match, a recovered Goldie was attacked by World Ladies Champion Luciana Albano, sparking a brawl that had to be broken up. Goldie might’ve lost the match, but she isn’t going away quietly.
Match #5: Black Mass w/ Venus NV vs. Joe ‘Jackhammer’ Sanders
Winner: Black Mass via pinfall
Joe Sanders brought every ounce of grit he had, but Black Mass was a juggernaut of cruelty. With interference from Venus NV and a terrifying combination of strikes and slams, Black Mass laid Sanders out. Post-match, Talia Nocturne appeared again, drawing venom from Venus. Talia simply smiled and vanished, leaving both Black Mass and Venus shaken.
The Truth Hurts – Hosted by Truth Wayne
Truth Wayne dropped a bombshell on Jax Brenner and Molly Mason in one of the most scandalous talk show segments in HCW history. Accusations flew, footage was shown, and Jax stormed off the set in disgust, telling Molly not to bother showing up at Critical Mass. Whether it was manipulation or truth, this segment just turned Jax’s future upside-down.
Main Event – Chamber of Horrors Match (TV Title)
Cara Loco (c) vs. Doofus Covfefe
Winner: Cara Loco via Electrocution (Still TV Champion)
A nightmare made of steel, barbed wire, coffins, and sheer lunacy. This match had it all—casket lid attacks, interference from ghouls, masked men, chains, and even the referee getting dragged under the ring. Cara Loco brutalized Doofus Covfefe with horror-movie creativity and psychological torment. After locking in the Mandible Claw for the submission win, Loco strapped Covfefe into the Chair of Torture, flipped the switch, and lit the poor fool up like a Vegas sign.
Covfefe’s mangled body twitched in the corner as Cara Loco howled from the top of the cage—bloody, broken, but still champion.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This was not just a go-home show—it was a warning. Every match had consequences, and every competitor showed they were ready to bring hell to Critical Mass.
Don’t miss FanFest, the Hall of Fame induction, and then… Critical Mass begins.
Brace yourselves.
HCW is about to erupt.

Episode #1086 | The Road to Critical Mass Heats Up!
❄️ Yeti Mauls His Way Through Billy Robbins
The show opened with Count Vlad and the Yeti demanding their match go first—and GM Max McGillicutty obliged. What followed was a test of survival as Billy Robbins fought valiantly, stunning Yeti early with a moonsault and dropkicks, but the monster endured. Multiple Tombstone Piledrivers, bearhugs, and a terrifying calmness sealed Robbins' fate. After being hurled out of the ring, Robbins couldn’t answer the count.
Winner: Yeti via Count-Out
Johnny Harris: “He didn’t need to pin him. He just stood there and watched the count. That’s chilling.”
🛡️ Duke Knight Battles Through Interference to Defeat Sterling Silverman
With Ruth Heartless pulling every trick in the book—and Slow-Count Sam living up to his nickname—Duke Knight fought an uphill battle against the cocky tech mogul Sterling Silverman. Knight absorbed punishment early but turned the tide with a Hangman DDT and dropkicks. After knocking Ruth off the apron, Knight rallied with a Shooting Star Press for the win.
Winner: Duke Knight via Pinfall
Ruth Heartless (screaming): “THIS WAS A CORPORATE HIT JOB!”
🌲 Jack Lumber Goes Too Far Against Adam Jameson
Jack Lumber, accompanied by Count Vlad, overwhelmed Adam Jameson with power early—but Jameson’s resilience kept the crowd in his corner. A hard-hitting back-and-forth climaxed with Vlad pulling the ref, allowing Lumber to unleash a brutal steel chair assault. A DQ was called, but the post-match carnage escalated when Billy Robbins tried to make the save—only to be taken out too.
Winner: Adam Jameson via DQ
Mike Johnson: “This wasn’t a match. It was a declaration of war from the Dark Dominion.”
☠️ KURSE the Death Dealer Crushes Marvin Barnes
‘Bad News’ Marvin Barnes came out cocky, but KURSE made him pay. After a chilling entrance, the monster rag-dolled Barnes with powerbombs and big boots. Barnes fought back with a few hard shots and high-impact offense, but it only seemed to fuel Kurse’s fury. A second Big Boot to the Face sealed Barnes’ fate.
Winner: Kurse via Pinfall
Johnny Harris: “Bad News is right. The only news for Marvin is pain.”
👑 Main Event – Ladies Battle Royal for a Title Contract
All non-champion women of HCW entered the fray, but the presence of the Dark Dominion Vixens tilted the odds.
🔥 Elimination Highlights:
-
Korbi Kong eliminated early after a distraction involving Ashley Diamond.
-
Dixie Caverns had an impressive run with three eliminations.
-
Missy Chick and The British Crippler also delivered standout moments.
-
Final three: Dixie Caverns, Talia Nocturne, and Selena Blackfang
With the crowd on edge, Count Vlad whispered instructions to his remaining Vixens. Talia eliminated herself, handing the victory—and the April Ladies Contract—to Selena 'Widow’s Fang' Blackfang.
Winner: Selena Blackfang
Selena revealed her contract was for a World Ladies Championship match, and she immediately made her move—ambushing Luciana Albano alongside Talia and holding the title high.
Mike Johnson: “Selena has made her choice. And Luciana’s reign just entered the danger zone.”
🔥 Final Notes:
-
Tensions are boiling over heading into Critical Mass Week.
-
Selena Blackfang has her sights set on gold, while Kurse, Lumber, and Yeti continue to devastate anyone in their path.
-
Tomorrow’s show is the 'Go Home' show before a weeklong HCW spectacular kicks off.
Stay tuned. The fuse is lit. Critical Mass is coming.
